Carter Grandbois scales junk-removal business using custom software

Carter Grandbois, an 18-year-old entrepreneur, has built a successful junk-removal business, Carter’s Junk Away, which earns up to $15,000 a month during peak seasons. Based in Johnstown, Colorado, Grandbois transitioned from working for an operator at age 16 to running his own company with his high school friends as employees.

To achieve profitability and scale the business, Grandbois utilized vibe-coding to develop custom software, including a pricing calculator. This tool allows his team to bid accurately on jobs, enabling him to oversee operations from home rather than being physically present on every job. He has since shared his pricing tools on social media to assist other aspiring business owners.
