Carter Thompson secures first Yamaha victory in WorldSPB Cremona race

The EICMA Italian Round at the Cremona Circuit saw intense competition in the World Sportbike class across two races.

In Race 1, Xavi Artigas of MTM Kawasaki secured victory after a tight battle, finishing just 0.108 seconds ahead of Harrison Dessoy. David Salvador completed the podium in third.

In Race 2, Carter Thompson of Team BrCorse delivered the first victory for the Yamaha YZF-R7 in the class. After starting fourth, the 18-year-old Australian took the lead on Lap 4 and maintained it through the finish. Xavi Artigas took second place, while Ferre Fleerackers secured third.

The championship standings have tightened significantly; David Salvador's lead over Artigas has been reduced to 12 points with only two races remaining in the season.
