Cartoon Network suffers massive leak of over 200GB of production assets
A massive leak involving over 200GB of internal production assets from Cartoon Network has surfaced online. The leaked data reportedly includes materials for more than 30 different shows, providing a rare look into the animation process.
Among the affected series are ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’, ‘Adventure Time’, ‘Regular Show’, and the 2003 version of ‘Teen Titans’. The leak also contains ‘Powerpuff Girls Z’, an anime spinoff that did not air in the United States, as well as ‘Looney Tunes Cartoons’ and various Hanna-Barbera productions.
The files consist of various production documents, such as Photoshop files with intact layers, model sheets, storyboards, animatics, and internal style guides. Notably, the leak includes digital character rigs—articulated puppets used by animators to move characters without redrawing them for every frame. Fans and aspiring animators are currently analyzing the files to study the technical decisions and workflows used by the original production teams.
