Cartoon Network to Mark 35th Anniversary with Docuseries and Robot Chicken Special

At the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Cartoon Network announced a slate of projects to celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2027. The plan includes a five‑episode documentary series that will trace the channel’s evolution from its early years to its current status as a creator‑driven brand, featuring archival footage and new interviews with animators and executives.

In parallel, Adult Swim’s long‑running stop‑motion series Robot Chicken will produce two crossover specials. The first, debuting on August 30, will commemorate Adult Swim’s 25th anniversary by revisiting classic Adult Swim shows in a new stop‑motion adventure. A second special, slated for release in 2027, will focus on Cartoon Network’s iconic programmes such as Johnny Bravo, Codename: Kids Next Door and Courage the Cowardly Dog, aligning with the channel’s anniversary celebrations.
