Carvana expands Charlotte operations and creates 100 jobs

Carvana is expanding its operations in Charlotte, North Carolina, by adding inspection and reconditioning capabilities to its existing ADESA Charlotte wholesale auction site. This expansion is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs, including roles in vehicle inspection, reconditioning, and fulfillment. Many of these positions will not require a college degree and will include benefits.

According to Brian Boyd, Senior Vice President of Inventory, the integration aims to strengthen the company’s national network while improving selection and delivery speed for North Carolina customers. The 50-acre facility will continue its wholesale auction activities while also supporting Carvana’s retail reconditioning and delivery operations. This move allows the company to increase vehicle capacity and strengthen its presence in the Charlotte market without constructing an entirely new facility.

In the broader automotive market, Carvana remains a fast-growing online used car retailer in North America, competing with companies such as CarMax, CarGurus, Vroom, and Cars.com.
