Cary woman killed by vehicle during daily walk

A 76-year-old woman, Soile Lazarz, was struck and killed by a vehicle while on her daily walk in Cary, North Carolina, on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. along Ederlee Drive near Regency Parkway.

According to Cary police, the vehicle involved was a black SUV. The victim's husband, Thomas Lazarz, noted that his wife was a cautious pedestrian who strictly obeyed traffic laws. He expressed concerns regarding the speed of traffic in the area, stating that drivers frequently exceed the speed limit.

Police have not yet determined the cause of the crash or whether speeding was a factor in the collision. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
