Cas Art. 32 highlights healthcare waiting lists at Fiera del Levante
The association Cas Art. 32 reported a successful first participation at the 89th edition of the Fiera del Levante in Bari, held from September 19 to 27. During the event, which saw 258,000 total visitors, volunteers engaged with thousands of people to discuss local healthcare challenges.
Francesco Fragola, president of Cas Art. 32, highlighted that the primary focus of their outreach was the issue of long waiting lists within the public health system. The association collected numerous testimonies regarding difficulties in accessing medical services, including cases of oncology patients waiting six months for PET scans and children waiting nearly a year for ophthalmological examinations.
While the association expressed satisfaction with the level of public engagement and awareness raised, Fragola also noted a lack of presence from political institutions within the Third Sector area of the fair.
