Casa de Piedra Hydroelectric Plant marks 30 years of operation
The Casa de Piedra Hydroelectric Plant celebrated 30 years of commercial energy generation during a ceremony held in Villa Casa de Piedra. The event, led by Alfredo Intronati, Minister of Public Works and Services, highlighted the facility's strategic role in regional energy production and the management of the Colorado River's water resources.
Authorities emphasized recent efforts to improve energy and power commercialization, increase the agency's revenue, and ensure the continuous maintenance and security of the dam. The plant's operation requires ongoing coordination with the Interjurisdictional Committee of the Colorado River (COIRCO) to balance hydroelectric generation with the water needs of the various provinces and productive activities along the river basin.
The anniversary also served to recognize the contributions of the workforce and the plant's impact on the economic development of the surrounding region.
