Casa Ilaria cooperative hit by double theft in Montefoscoli

Casa Ilaria, a social inclusion cooperative located in Montefoscoli, near Palaia, has been targeted by two separate thefts within a few days. The intrusions occurred during the nights of Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday, with night security discovering broken doors at the facility.

Thieves stole a significant quantity of fruit preserves, totaling over 936 jars. These products were crafted by the residents of the facility during the summer and were intended for Christmas gift packages to support the community’s activities. In addition to the preserves, the perpetrators took a new kitchen slicer and several kilometers of electrical wire.

The community expressed that the impact extends beyond economic loss, describing the event as a moral blow to the dignity and artisanal work of the individuals involved in the cooperative’s programs. The Carabinieri of Palaia have responded to the reports and are conducting investigations to identify those responsible.
