Casa Linhares restoration in Balneário Camboriú set for December 2026 completion

The historic Casa Linhares in the Bairro da Barra of Balneário Camboriú began a major restoration in June 2026. The project, budgeted at roughly R$970,476, targets completion by December 2026. Work so far, representing about 15% of the total, has focused on demolition, removal and the renewal of façades, walls, windows, roofs, floors, ceilings and the upgrade of electrical, hydraulic, fire‑prevention and accessibility systems. The municipality awarded the contract to JA Construtora e Administração de Obras Ltda, and the renovation is overseen by the city’s Fundação Cultural. Mayor Juliana Pavan stressed that the house symbolizes the city’s cultural heritage and deserves a dignified restoration. Once finished, Casa Linhares will house workshops of the Escola de Arte e Artesanato, a library, exhibitions of local crafts and a permanent cultural‑memory point, reinforcing its role as a community hub.
