Casa Lizcano’s adds award-winning arepa to menu

The Barcelona-based restaurant Casa Lizcano’s has officially added ‘La Doña’ to its permanent menu following its success in the As de la Arepa 2026 competition. The arepa secured first place in the Anzoátegui region and was recorded as the most sold arepa in the country during this edition of the contest.

Owner William Lizcano reported that during the ten-day competition, the establishment sold 5,381 arepas and hosted approximately 4,000 visitors. The winning dish features sliced smoked pork ribs, grilled cheese, sliced smoked beef that undergoes a two-day preparation process, and house-made guasacaca.

Previously focused on grilled and smoked meats, the restaurant is expanding its offerings to include breakfast and Andean dishes such as pizca and yucca pastelitos. The establishment is located in Plaza Rolando in Barcelona.
