Casa Ronald McDonald opens at Niguarda Hospital in Milan

The new Casa Ronald McDonald has officially opened at the Niguarda Hospital in Milan. Spanning 600 square meters, the facility is designed to support families of children undergoing medical treatment by providing a space where they can stay close to their children during long or complex hospitalizations.

The structure includes seven bedrooms with private bathrooms, two kitchens, living areas, play zones, laundry facilities, and dedicated workstations for smart working. This expansion evolves from the original Ronald McDonald Family Room that was inaugurated at the hospital in December 2020.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several officials, including the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, the Mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, the Director General of Niguarda, Alberto Zoli, the President of Casa Ronald McDonald, Nicola Antonacci, and the CEO of McDonald’s Italia, Giorgia Favaro. Attilio Fontana highlighted the project as an example of public-private collaboration and emphasized that excellence in healthcare includes caring for the patient's family as an integral part of the healing process.
