Casablanca Court strips Kenza Chraibi of City Council membership
The Casablanca Administrative Court has issued a final ruling stripping Kenza Chraibi of her membership in the Casablanca City Council. The decision, issued on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, includes the implementation of all resulting legal consequences.
The legal dispute arose following Chraibi’s political shift from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), under which she was elected as president of the Sidi Belyout district council in 2021, to the Constitutional Union Party. The Authenticity and Modernity Party filed a lawsuit seeking her removal from office due to this change in political affiliation.
The ruling coincides with the legislative elections in the Anfa constituency, where Chraibi is running as a candidate for the Constitutional Union Party. While her membership in the Casablanca City Council has been terminated, the legal impact on her position as president of the Sidi Belyout district council remains subject to further legal interpretation and implementation.
