Casablanca expands cultural offerings with new museums and events
Casablanca is expanding its cultural landscape through new museum openings and specialized programming. The city has recently introduced the Museum of Photography and Visual Arts, located in the old medina and designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. This institution, managed in partnership with the National Museums Foundation, focuses on providing artistic access to youth.
Additionally, the Casablanca Memory Museum has opened at the Villa Carl Ficke to preserve the city's historical heritage. The city's existing cultural offerings include Dar Al Ala for Andalusian music, the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, and the Sidi Abderrahmane archaeological site.
In the culinary sector, Villa Sahrai Casablanca is hosting a month-long Japanese cultural program throughout September. The event features Japanese chef Sayaka Sawaguchi and includes activities centered on gastronomy, wellness, and floral arts.
