Casablanca Finance City enters the global top 40 financial centers
Casablanca Finance City (CFC) has entered the top 40 of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), rising 11 places to rank 38th worldwide in the 40th edition of the index published on September 16, 2026. The ranking, produced by the Z/Yen Group in collaboration with the China Development Institute, evaluates 117 financial centers based on competitiveness and investor appeal.
Within the Africa and Middle East region, CFC ranks third, trailing only the United Arab Emirates' hubs, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It remains the highest-ranked financial center in Africa. The hub has attracted over 280 member companies since its establishment in 2010, including major institutions such as JPMorgan, Citigroup, McKinsey, and Microsoft Africa.
CFC provides a specialized legal and fiscal framework to attract foreign investment, featuring exemptions from foreign exchange controls and a corporate tax structure that includes a five-year exemption followed by a reduced 20% rate. Other regional competitors include the Mauritius International Financial Centre, ranked 55th globally, and the Kigali International Financial Centre in Rwanda.
