Casablanca-Settat political candidates prepare for upcoming elections
Political activity is intensifying in the Casablanca-Settat region of Morocco as candidates prepare for upcoming elections. Nadia Naoum, a lawyer from the El Jadida bar, has officially filed her candidacy to lead the Democratic Forces Front list for the Casablanca-Settat region. Her campaign emphasizes professional competence and local social ties, particularly within the Doukkala region.
In the Casablanca-Anfa district, Mohamed Benmoussa, a political figure and president of the Progress and Socialism Party's economic forum, is focusing his campaign on combating low voter turnout. He noted that the district saw a participation rate of only approximately 24 percent in 2021, one of the lowest in the country, and experienced a decline in registered voters. Benmoussa aims to encourage political engagement, particularly among the youth, to ensure a more representative electoral process.
