Casablanca Stock Exchange MASI index declines

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed in negative territory on Friday, August 28, 2026. The primary MASI index fell by 0.61% to 18,931.06 points, reflecting a broader downward trend across several indices.

Sectoral performance showed significant losses in forestry and paper (-2.61%), mining (-1.98%), and financial services (-1.74%). Conversely, the agricultural sector rose by 2.5%, while electricity and industrial engineering sectors saw modest gains of 1.11%.

Trading volume exceeded 580.1 million dirhams. Major activity was concentrated on the central market, with Attijariwafa Bank leading transactions at 288.84 million dirhams, followed by Managem and Itissalat Al-Maghrib. Among individual stocks, Promopharm S.A. was a top performer with a 5.97% increase, while Rebab Company saw the steepest decline at 4.76%.
