Casagit launches healthcare plan for freelance journalists

Casagit has launched a new healthcare assistance plan specifically designed for freelance and contributing journalists registered with professional orders in Italy. The initiative, approved unanimously by the mutual aid society's board, aims to provide tailored welfare protections for professionals operating outside traditional contractual frameworks.

Starting March 1, 2026, eligible members and their families can enroll. The plan includes coverage for diagnostic exam and visit ticket reimbursements, dental care, psychotherapy, annual preventive check-ups, and assistance for corrective eyewear. It also provides coverage for hospitalizations, surgical interventions, and 24/7 emergency assistance both in Italy and abroad.

The plan was developed following research by the Associazione Giornalisti Italiani to identify the specific needs of the profession. Enrollment is available to individuals up to age 60 for a fixed monthly contribution of 50 euros.
