Casaio hosts fifth San Xil mountain trail race

The fifth edition of the San Xil Casaio Andaina e Trail took place in Casaio, attracting more than 180 participants. This year's event marked a return to more technical and mountainous routes, moving away from the administrative restrictions and fire-damaged terrain that had forced organizers to use flatter tracks in previous years.

The most demanding event was the Trail Largo, a 34-kilometer course with 2,400 meters of positive elevation gain. The route included a significant climb to Maluro, situated at an altitude of 1,925 meters. Participants noted the difficulty and the scenic beauty of the terrain, which traversed the San Xil river valley, Castro Voloso, and the As Morteiras area.
