Casal di Principe: Massive illegal waste site discovered

A massive illegal waste disposal site has been discovered in Casal di Principe, specifically in the Casarella area. Following orders from Giuseppe Vadalà, the commissioner for the Terra dei Fuochi, vegetation was removed from the site, revealing an expanse of waste covering over 20,000 square meters.

The site features compacted waste piles several meters high, deep cavities, and greenish liquid pooling in pits. The terrain shows signs of extensive excavation and subsequent filling, which was then covered by vegetation to hide the activity.

While no direct evidence currently links this discovery to previous testimonies from former collaborator Carmine Schiavone regarding hazardous waste burial near the local sports field, the scale and nature of the site have prompted investigations into the extent of the environmental damage and the amount of material hidden underground.
