Casal Popular La Flama marks third anniversary with historical exhibits
The Casal Popular La Flama celebrated its third anniversary with a series of events focused on political advocacy, popular culture, and historical memory. The commemorations included a tribute to Jon Paredes Manot (known as Txiki), one of the last individuals executed by the Franco regime, serving as a symbol of social integration and historical remembrance.
As part of the anniversary, the center inaugurated the itinerant exhibition ‘Un grito en la pared’ (A Shout on the Wall). Created by the Mesa de la Memoria de Ortuella, the exhibit uses 50 original Spanish Civil War posters to illustrate the role of political propaganda and the social networks of the era, including the mobilization efforts of various unions and political formations.
The anniversary also marked the start of a new quarterly program of cultural activities, including musical performances, theater, and poetry, aimed at strengthening community ties and providing shared learning spaces for citizens.
