Casale Monferrato implements nursery extensions and seeks medical research funding

The Municipality of Casale Monferrato has joined a Piedmont Region initiative to extend the operating hours of municipal nursery schools. The measure affects the Oltreponte, Porta Milano, and Valentino nurseries, extending service hours from 16:30 to 18:00. Funded by the Piedmont Region's PR FSE+ 2021-2027, the program aims to support working families and promote gender equality by improving work-life balance.

Separately, the association Afeva is calling for continued dedicated funding for the Mesothelioma and Rare Tumors unit in Casale Monferrato. This follows the recognition of ASOU-AL as an IRCCS (Institute of Scientific Research and Healthcare Specialization) for Cardiology and Pulmonology. Afeva argues that the mesothelioma unit requires similar exclusive funding and personnel to maintain its role as a clinical and scientific reference point for patient care and research.
