Camorra intimidation attacks in Casapesenna and attempted Jova Beach Party scheme revealed

Italian anti‑mafia investigators from the Naples District Antimafia Directorate uncovered two separate Camorra operations in Campania. In Casapesenna, the DDA linked rifle fire on 20 October 2025 and a homemade bomb explosion on 19 February 2026 to a retaliation against a Moroccan resident after a dispute. Eleven people are under investigation, including Costantino Garofalo, Paolo Francesco Serao, Gianluca Piccolo and Valerio Mormile, with the attacks framed as a warning by the Zagaria faction.

A separate probe, based on testimony from pentito Vincenzo D’Angelo, described how the Russo‑Schiavone branch of the Casalesi clan attempted to capture a 50 % stake in the parking operations for the 2022 Jova Beach Party in Castel Volturno, an event that attracted more than 40,000 attendees. The scheme was never realised after the beach‑venue owner rejected the clan’s involvement, despite the alleged request for a share of the profits.

Both investigations highlight the Camorra’s use of intimidation and attempts to infiltrate lucrative local businesses.
