Casalgrande Archery Competition Promotes Inclusion for Deaf Athletes

The third stage of the 12th Quadrangular “Andrea Bertolino” archery tournament was held on 25 July in Dinazzano, organized by A.S.D. Malin Archery Team with the patronage of the Municipality of Casalgrande. Vice Mayor Valeria Amarossi represented the municipal administration at the event, which featured competitions at 70, 60 and 50 metres.

Marcello Tazzola and Angela Padovani arrived from Ravenna with their deaf daughter, an athlete who distinguished herself in the competition. The couple are working to make archery more accessible to deaf participants, learning Italian Sign Language (LIS) and lobbying the federation. Their advocacy has already helped adapt competition regulations to be more inclusive, and the regional FITARCO Emilia‑Romagna committee entrusted the Casalgrande club with hosting the meet.
