Casalgrande launches community bookcrossing network

The town of Casalgrande is expanding its “Casalgrande Legge” project by establishing a bookcrossing network across local shops, bars, and businesses. This initiative aims to create a distributed library by placing book containers in frequently visited community locations.

Scheduled to officially launch on September 11, 2026, during the Fiera di Settembre, the project provides containers to participating businesses at no cost. The municipal Sognalibro Library will provide the initial stock of books. The system operates on a “take a book, leave a book” principle, allowing citizens to freely exchange volumes.

Culture Councilor Graziella Tosi stated that the goal is to bring culture out of traditional settings and into the daily spaces inhabited by citizens and families. Local businesses can join the network by contacting the Culture Office by August 22.
