Casalgrande to host memorial event for Maria Chindamo

The municipality of Casalgrande has scheduled a memorial event for October 28, 2026, to honor Maria Chindamo. Her brother, Vincenzo Chindamo, will provide testimony regarding her disappearance and the ongoing search for justice.

Maria Chindamo, a Calabrian agricultural entrepreneur and mother of three, disappeared on May 6, 2016, in front of her company in Limbadi, Vibo Valentia. Investigative findings suggest the crime was linked to mafia interests regarding her land and opposition to her personal choices. Legal proceedings to establish responsibility are currently ongoing.

The event is part of the ‘Semi di legalità’ initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Casalgrande with support from Avviso Pubblico and the Rete Comuni Mafia Free. Local officials, including Mayor Giuseppe Daviddi and Legality Assessor Marco Cassinadri, will participate in the program.
