Casalmaggiore celebrates Ferragosto with traditional festivities

The Casalmaggiore and Oglio Po region is observing Ferragosto with a variety of traditional, religious, and musical events. Activities include a swimming event in the Po river organized by the Amici del Po and a day at the Eridanea pool.

Religious observances feature the procession of the Madonna della Fontana, the patron saint of Casalmaggiore, moving from the Church of San Francesco to the Sanctuary of the Fontana. Other local celebrations include music in Villa Con and family festivities in Preda Cisoni. The weekend concludes with a sunset event on the Po and a Mass at the Church of San Rocco.
