Casamonti Collection to open new museum in Florence

The Casamonti Collection is moving to a new museum headquarters at Palazzo San Giorgio in Florence. Managed by Jonathan Paonetti, the collection will occupy 28 rooms across two levels following restoration work by Archea Associati.

The new site, located near Ponte Vecchio along Lungarno Serristori, is scheduled to open to the public on September 28, 2026. The exhibition will feature approximately 250 works spanning over a century of art history, ranging from the 19th century to contemporary practices. The curated itinerary aims to create a dialogue between Italian and international works, connecting movements such as Futurism, Metaphysical art, Cubism, and abstraction, through to post-war styles like Arte Povera, Pop Art, and Video Art.
