Casan repairs major water pipeline in Palhoça after heavy rains

A major water pipeline in Palhoça, which supplies approximately 70% of the water produced at the Cubatão Water Treatment Plant, requires urgent repairs after shifting due to heavy rainfall. The Companhia Catarinense de Águas e Saneamento (Casan) expects to complete the repairs by Monday night.

Water supply is expected to be restored gradually throughout Tuesday. The incident affects the Integrated System of Greater Florianópolis, potentially causing low pressure or water shortages in Palhoça, São José, Biguaçu, and the central and continental regions of Florianópolis. Casan has advised residents in affected areas to use water economically during the recovery process.
