Casandra de los Santos reports stabbing attack in Río Bravo

Casandra de los Santos, a federal deputy representing Tamaulipas for the Green Ecological Party (PVEM), has reported a stabbing attack in the municipality of Río Bravo. The legislator stated that the incident occurred on Saturday, October 10, following a dinner in an irregular neighborhood. According to de los Santos, a hooded individual emerged from a vacant lot and attacked her with a knife, resulting in a 15-centimeter wound to her left side.

The deputy has filed a formal complaint and requested investigations from the state and federal prosecutor's offices. She also expressed a need for increased personal security in both Tamaulipas and Mexico City, noting that she had previously requested support from the National Guard in March without receiving a response.

Local reports have noted the political context surrounding the claim. Some local commentary has questioned the timing and consistency of the allegations, citing previous incidents involving associates of Senator Maki Esther Ortiz Domínguez, though the deputy maintains the physical attack is a distinct and serious matter.
