Casarano urban greenery management faces criticism from former councilor

Massimo Leggio, a former municipal councilor for the Five Star Movement, has criticized the management of public greenery and urban decorum in Casarano. Leggio highlighted a perceived lack of long-term vision in local public works, comparing a neglected flowerbed at the city entrance to the well-designed park in the neighboring municipality of Ruffano.

Leggio also raised concerns regarding the maintenance of the linear park and the utility of the local cycle path, suggesting that recent interventions often suffer from abandonment after completion. In response, Councilor Maria Elena Palese stated that irrigation efforts for the area are underway and that an automated system will be activated once authorized by AQP.
