Cascade Natural Gas rates to increase by 10.7% in Oregon
The Oregon Public Utility Commission has approved a request from Cascade Natural Gas to increase rates by approximately 10.7%, effective October 31. This marks the company’s first general rate increase since 2020.
For a typical residential customer using 57 therms per month, the hike will result in a monthly increase of about $7.38. The approved increase is lower than the 17% originally proposed by the company earlier this year. According to the PUC, the reduction in the requested amount is due to lower wholesale gas costs and decreased gas usage during the mild winter of 2025-26.
Cascade Natural Gas provides service to Baker City and northern Morrow and Umatilla counties, including Hermiston and Pendleton.
