Cascais allocates 1.8 million euros for higher education scholarships

The Cascais Municipality has announced the allocation of 1.8 million euros in scholarships for higher education students for the current academic year. This represents a 50% increase compared to the previous year, adding 600,000 euros to the budget.

The funding is intended to support 1,200 students who have tax residency in Cascais and are enrolled in bachelor's, master's, or professional higher technical courses (CTeSP) at recognized public, private, or cooperative institutions. Students studying within the Lisbon Metropolitan Area are eligible for 1,250 euros, while those studying outside the metropolitan area can receive 1,750 euros.

Applications must be submitted online via the MyCascais platform by October 16. This initiative is part of a broader educational investment plan by the municipality, which totals 83.6 million euros for the 2025-2028 period, including significant infrastructure projects and school renovations.
