Cascais and Óbidos host community and civic events

Local governments in Cascais, Portugal, and Óbidos, Brazil, have announced schedules for upcoming community and civic events.

In Cascais, the municipal executive has a series of engagements scheduled through September 10. Key activities include a reception for the educational community, the opening of the new Cascais Secondary School, and various sports and community intervention projects. Other scheduled events include the Festa da Vindima, a cycling race, and the presentation of winning candidates for the ‘Reinvente o seu Bairro 2026’ program.

In Óbidos, the municipal government has launched the 2026 ‘Semana da Pátria’ (Patriotic Week) to celebrate Brazilian Independence. The event features civic parades involving seven schools, with this year's theme focusing on ‘Technologies that transform learning for the digital world: skills and educational challenges.’ The celebrations include the playing of the Brazilian National Anthem and symbolic flag-raising ceremonies.
