Portugal: Man sentenced to 17 years for homicide; assets seized in Braga
The Loures Court has sentenced a man to 17 years in prison for the qualified homicide of his partner in Alenquer. The victim, a foreign national, was killed during an argument while the couple was living in a vehicle. The defendant, who was also a foreign national, fled to Prague, Czech Republic, before being extradited to Portugal following a European arrest warrant.
In a separate legal matter, Portuguese authorities have seized millions of euros from a businessman based in Braga. The investigation, involving the Porto Judicial Police and the Public Ministry, follows concerns regarding unexplained assets and is linked to the Montenegro house case.
