Cascavel sets national record with 23-ton giant rapadura
The city of Cascavel, located in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza, has set a new national record for the largest rapadura in Brazil. Produced by Engenho Tradição, the giant sugar candy weighs 23,950 kilograms, surpassing the previous record of 18,660 kilograms set by Pindoretama.
The production process lasted approximately five months and required roughly 200 tons of sugarcane. About 20 employees participated in the various stages of manufacturing the sweet. The achievement was officially recognized by the RankBrasil platform, which specializes in documenting national records.
Socorro Pereira, the owner of Engenho Tradição, noted that the establishment previously held a world record for a giant rapadura in 2006. The new record serves to highlight the traditional artisanal production of sugar cane products in the Ceará region.
