Cascina breaks ground on 1.5 million euro therapeutic pool

The APSP Matteo Remaggi residential center in Cascina has officially broken ground on the ‘Acqua e Disabilità’ (Water and Disability) project. This initiative involves the construction of a specialized therapeutic pool designed for hydrokinesitherapy and the rehabilitation of non-self-sufficient individuals.

The project represents an investment of approximately 1.5 million euros, funded by the Fondazione Pisa, local municipalities in the Pisa area, the Tuscany Region, and the center’s own resources. The facility aims to provide a modern socio-sanitary and rehabilitative space that is currently lacking in the region, serving the elderly, patients in rehabilitation, and people with disabilities.

Construction is expected to be completed within approximately 12 months. While located within the residential center, the pool is intended to be open to the local community to help remove physical and social barriers to specialized care.
