Caserta equestrian center launches autism inclusion project
The Centro Ippico ‘I Tifatini’ in Caserta has launched ‘Cavalli in Blu’ (Blue Horses), a structured adaptive equestrian project designed for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Led by Dr. Claudio Belardo, a Paralympic equestrian instructor, psychologist, and specialist in preventive and adaptive motor activities, the program utilizes the B-Map Method. This approach focuses on the global development of the individual through technical-sporting and motor activities. The project aims to foster autonomy, enhance motor skills, and promote social inclusion through the connection with horses.
Dr. Belardo emphasized that the initiative is not intended as therapy, but rather as a way for participants to express their athletic and relational potential in a safe and stimulating environment. To prevent sensory overload, the sessions are structured as short 30-minute intervals following a consistent and reassuring routine.
