Caserta hosts conference on the 1945 German surrender in Italy

A conference was held at the Ferrari Orsi barracks in Caserta to commemorate the unconditional surrender of German armies in Italy, which was signed in Caserta on April 29, 1945. Organized by the National Union of Retired Officers of Italy, Campania Region Coordination, the event focused on the historical significance of the peace established on May 2, 1945.

During the event, a new volume titled ‘2 maggio 1945 un’alba di pace’ (May 2, 1945, a dawn of peace) was presented. The publication contains the proceedings from a previous conference and is intended as a study tool for younger generations. The event included participation from numerous school groups and featured remarks from Brigadier General Valentino De Simone, vice-commander of the Garibaldi Brigade, regarding the brigade's collaboration with schools and cultural associations.
