Caserta police face critical staffing and facility shortages
The COISP (Interministerial Committee for Public Order and Security) has requested an extraordinary plan from the Department of Public Security to address critical staffing shortages and inadequate facilities for the State Police in the province of Caserta.
The request follows reports from the Provincial Secretariat highlighting deficiencies across the Questura, various Commissariats, and specialized units. Key areas of concern include Aversa, Casal di Principe, and Castel Volturno, where current personnel assignments are insufficient to compensate for recent retirements and transfers.
Specific units facing challenges include the Highway Police, Railway Police, and the Cyber Security operational section. Notably, the Technical Logistics Office has reportedly lost approximately 40% of its staff over the last two years, despite a 30% increase in workload.
