Caserta residents report low satisfaction in new survey

A recent survey titled ‘Caserta 2030’, conducted by analyst Antonio Noto, reveals significant dissatisfaction among residents regarding the quality of life in Caserta, Italy. The study, based on a sample of 2,000 residents, assigned the city an average score of 5.1 out of 10.

Key areas of concern include job opportunities (4.3), public transport efficiency (4.3), traffic and road viability (4.4), and the financial pressure of housing and taxes (4.5). Digital connectivity was the only sector to receive a passing grade with a score of 5.2. Approximately 46% of respondents rated the city between 1 and 5, while only 9% expressed full satisfaction.

Gennaro Iannotti, a mayoral candidate who commissioned the report, described the city as ‘depressed’ and lacking immediate prospects. The data highlights a critical issue with youth retention: 59% of residents would advise a twenty-year-old against living in Caserta, and 28% of residents aged 18 to 34 are actively considering leaving the city. Iannotti has pledged to focus on mobility, security, youth policies, and public green spaces to rebuild trust between citizens and local institutions.
