Caserta to host Wimby Fest for environmental and civic rights

The Wimby Fest is scheduled to take place from September 11 to 13 at the ex Macrico site, now known as Campo Laudato Sì', in Caserta. Organized by the Stop Biocidio movement alongside various Campanian associations, the festival focuses on environmental protection, civic participation, and urban regeneration.

Daily activities starting at 17:00 will include artisan stands, children's workshops, film screenings, yoga, meditation, and live music. The event serves as a platform for discussing critical local issues, including the protection of the Volturno river and the future of the Macrico area.

Key political debates will address opposition to the establishment of Repatriation Centers (CPR), specifically regarding proposed projects in Castel Volturno. Additionally, discussions will cover the movement of common goods and the preservation of local heritage, such as the Reggia di Carditello.
