Casertavecchia to host midsummer concert series in historic locations

The medieval village of Casertavecchia will host the ‘Concerti di una notte di mezza estate’ (Concerts of a Midsummer Night) on August 14. The event features twelve musical performances spread across four historic locations: the Cathedral, the Church of the Annunziata, Palazzo della Valle, and Palazzo Giaquinto.

The musical program includes an opening by a Wind Trio (flute, clarinet, and bassoon), percussion performances, and a repertoire ranging from Vivaldi to Bartók. A notable highlight is the ‘Molise Contemporaneo’ project, developed in collaboration with the Conservatory of Campobasso, which reinterprets ethnic Molise material through the lens of local composers. The program also features Viennese-style music and Latin-inspired sessions.

Promoted by ‘Un Borgo di Libri’ in partnership with the ‘Anna Iervolino’ musical association and the Orchestra da Camera di Caserta, the event is supported by the Parish of San Michele Arcangelo, the local Confraternita, and the Pro Loco.
