Casey Affleck reveals death of father months after mother's passing

Actor Casey Affleck revealed during a press conference at the Venice Film Festival that his and Ben Affleck’s father, Timothy “Tim” Byers Affleck, passed away earlier this year.

The announcement comes just months after the death of their mother, Christopher “Chris” Anne Affleck, who died in June at age 83 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Casey, who directed, co-wrote, and starred in the new film “Company,” stated that the project is dedicated to both parents.

“I lost both my mom and my dad this year, and they were very important to me,” Casey told reporters, adding that he wished he could have shown them the film.

Timothy Affleck had previously worked as an auto mechanic, bartender, and janitor before dedicating much of his later life to helping others overcome addiction. He had maintained sobriety for 30 years prior to his death.
