Casey Mutryn emerges as top prospect at NHL Draft Combine

American right‑wing Casey Mutryn, a 6‑foot‑3, 203‑lb forward who developed in the Massachusetts prep system and spent two seasons with the U.S. National Development Team Program, posted 54 points in 99 games during the 2024‑25 season, including 30 goals. His production improved as he moved from the U17 to the U18 and junior levels, earning a ranking of #36 in The Win Column’s 2026 NHL Draft list and #24 in Central Scouting’s North American rankings.

The NHL Draft Combine, held ahead of the 2026 Draft scheduled for June 26‑27 in Buffalo, featured interviews with roughly 50 prospects. The Philadelphia Flyers listed Mutryn among the players they met with, alongside other notable names such as Alexander Command and Xavier Villeneuve. Mutryn’s strong effort, physical presence, and hockey intelligence were highlighted as key strengths, and he has committed to play for Boston College in the 2027‑28 season, a decision that may see him return to the USNTDP before college.
