Casimiro de Abreu merchants demand transparency after anniversary event losses

Merchants and attendees are demanding transparency following the 167th anniversary celebrations of Casimiro de Abreu. The event, held at the Parque de Exposições Henrique Baptista Sarzedas, was managed by the private company Cocobongo Serviços e Locações LTDA, which was granted permission to use the space.

Local vendors reported financial losses due to high upfront fees and poor weather conditions. Some merchants claimed they were required to pay significant sums in advance, with one vendor reporting payments totaling R$ 8,000 and another paying R$ 3,000, neither of which could be recouped through sales.

Additionally, attendees raised concerns regarding high parking fees, expensive VIP areas, and safety issues, including overcrowding and unstable structures during a performance by Léo Santana. Mayor Ramon Gidalte stated that the municipality invested over R$ 2 million in the event, providing infrastructure, lighting, and security support.
