Casio announces limited-edition MR-G 30th anniversary timepiece

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced the release of a limited-edition MR-G timepiece to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the MR-G flagship line within its G-SHOCK brand. The new model, the MRG-B2100HR, will be available in a global limited run of only 800 pieces.

The design, themed ‘haruka’ (eternity), integrates traditional Japanese craftsmanship with advanced technology. The watch features a dimensional latticework dial inspired by ‘kigumi’—a traditional Japanese woodworking technique—and is finished with platinum leaf applied by hand by metal leaf artist Hiroto Rakusho.

To achieve a metal leaf-inspired texture on the bezel and bracelet, Casio utilized structural color technology via precision ultrashort-pulse laser processing, which causes colors to shift based on the viewing angle. The timepiece is constructed using high-hardness alloys, specifically COBARION for the bezel and DAT55G for the bracelet.
