Casio expands G-Shock line with new Mudman and contemporary designs

Casio is preparing to expand its G-Shock Mudman line with the upcoming GDG-B100 model. This new addition is expected to feature a Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) display for improved readability, alongside Bluetooth connectivity and physical activity tracking via the Casio Watches application. The watch will likely include a pedometer to monitor steps, distance, pace, and calories burned.

Designed for outdoor and exercise use, the GDG-B100 will utilize Carbon Core Guard technology and a stainless steel rear casing for impact protection. It is expected to offer a stopwatch with a 100-hour capacity, vibration alarms, and smartphone notifications. The model is anticipated to be available in black, dark green, and sand, with an estimated retail price between US$250 and US$270.

Separately, Junichi Izumi, Product Manager at Casio India, discussed the design philosophy behind the GA-2100 series. The series aims to bridge traditional G-Shock toughness with a slimmer, more contemporary aesthetic. By utilizing the Carbon Core Guard structure and an octagonal bezel inspired by the original DW-5000, the GA-2100 provides a more understated profile suitable for modern lifestyles while maintaining the brand's core identity.
