Casio launches budget-friendly Pro Trek PRJ-B001EX-1 rugged watch

Casio has introduced a new low‑cost variant of its Pro Trek line, the PRJ‑B001EX‑1, targeting field engineers, developers and urban everyday‑carry users. The watch retains core rugged features such as altimeter, barometer, compass, Tough Solar power, Bluetooth location tracking and 100 m water resistance, while adding a redesigned band that serves as a protective cover and a small wallet for keys or cash, and a carabiner attachment for backpack mounting.

The model is priced at 33,000 yen (about US$210) in Japan and is slated for a global launch this month, though a United States release date has not yet been confirmed. Casio positions the device as an affordable alternative to higher‑priced specialist field gear, emphasizing durability, long battery life and minimal on‑wrist bulk for off‑grid or server‑room deployments.
