Casola Valsenio inaugurates new sports facility
A new municipal sports facility has been inaugurated in Casola Valsenio, located in the Furina area, marking the return of a community hub 11 years after a landslide in 2015 destroyed the previous structure.
The project faced several delays and challenges, including the global pandemic, rising raw material costs, and recent floods in 2023 and 2024 that impacted the region. The complex was built with a total investment of approximately 2.3 million euros. Funding was provided by CONI (1 million euros), the Region (600,000 euros), the Municipality (198,000 euros), and the Ministry (173,000 euros), supplemented by 80,000 euros from Asd Nuova Casola with support from Saint-Gobain Italia.
The facility is named after Antonio ‘Toto’ Rivola, a beloved local footballer. During the ceremony, a street was also named in honor of Diego Dall’Osso, a significant figure in local sports who served as both a player and a long-time coach. The modern complex is intended to serve local youth and various community associations.
